Hyper-targeted effort will engage activists and voters to kick off the 2012 campaign and frame the failed economic policies of Willard Romney
Today, Workers’ Voice announced that they will begin their first wave of hyper-targeted online grassroots advertising. The half a million dollar buy will engage activists and voters – both union and non union – to kick off the 2012 campaign and frame the failed economic policies of Willard Romney.
People who sign up online for Workers’ Voice will be the first to have access to our new online field tools and be able to participate in our first round of grassroots 2012 actions to be announced later this week. This will also allow activists to begin earning “points” towards being able to direct how Workers’ Voice allocates our resources.
“These grassroots ads are just the first step in our efforts to combine old fashioned organizing energy with cutting edge technology,” said AFL-CIO Political Director Michael Podhorzer. “Our activists across the country will be hitting the ground running with the ability to begin taking action later this week.”
In addition to building and activating a grassroots network to engage in field activities – both online and offline – the ads will begin to frame the failed economic policies of Willard Romney who made his quarter billion dollar fortune by firing workers, sending their jobs overseas and stashing the profits in secret offshore bank accounts.
Key facts about the ads:
- They will run across all online platforms including websites, Facebook, Twitter & search displays.
- They will be targeted to both union and non-union working families.
- They will run nation-wide, with heavier buys in PA, OH, MI, WI, FL and NV.
- 15-25% of the ads will be in Spanish.
